Purple Coneflower (Echinacea purpurea) is a timeless staple of the summer cutting garden, prized for its bold purple petals and prominent cone centers. Long-lasting in bouquets and highly attractive to pollinators, it brings structure, color, and a natural, meadow-inspired feel to mixed arrangements, wedding work, and farm-style designs. A hardworking perennial that earns its keep year after year, Purple Echinacea is a must-have for growers who value both beauty, resilience, and give-back for pollinators.

Type: Perennial

Height: 24–36”

Seed Packet Contains: Minimum 50 Seeds

Seed Starting Directions:

Start seeds indoors 8–10 weeks before the last frost or direct sow outdoors in early spring or fall. Cold stratification improves germination—either sow outdoors where seeds will naturally experience winter temperatures, or refrigerate seeds in a moist medium for 2–4 weeks before planting indoors. Sow seeds on the surface of the soil and lightly press in; do not bury deeply. Maintain soil temperatures around 65–70° F. Germination typically occurs in 10–20 days. Transplant seedlings outdoors after danger of frost has passed and plants are well hardened off. Space plants 12–18” apart.

Once an order is placed, we cannot add or subtract items. If you want any additional items not included in your original order, please place a new order. We are unable to combine shipping on separately placed orders.

Please note that we do not ship seeds internationally.
