Common Milkweed (Asclepias syriaca) is a must-have for any pollinator-friendly garden. Its clusters of fragrant pink flowers attract butterflies, bees, and other beneficial insects, making it perfect for cut flower arrangements, naturalistic bouquets, and wildlife-supporting landscapes. A robust perennial, Common Milkweed is also an essential host plant for monarch butterfly caterpillars, helping support declining populations. With its bold presence and ecological benefits, this plant is both beautiful and purposeful, making it a standout in flower gardens and meadow plantings alike.

Type: Perennial

Height: 36–60”

Seed Packet Contains: Minimum 50 Seeds

Seed Starting Directions:

Seeds require cold stratification for best germination. Start seeds indoors 6–8 weeks before the last frost or sow directly outdoors in early spring or fall. For stratification, place seeds in a moist medium in the refrigerator for 30 days. Sow seeds just below the soil surface and keep soil consistently moist. Germination typically occurs in 10–30 days. Transplant seedlings outdoors after danger of frost has passed and seedlings are hardened off. Space plants 18–24” apart.

Once an order is placed, we cannot add or subtract items. If you want any additional items not included in your original order, please place a new order. We are unable to combine shipping on separately placed orders.

Please note that we do not ship seeds internationally.
